Rush Week (Or Recruitment)

This post is geared more towards American university students, so if you aren't interested in sorority life, feel free to skip over this page. We all know that recruitment differs from campus to campus, but it seems as though many campuses have four rounds of recruitment. If your campus has a different number of rounds feel free to use this as a guide, but combine rounds two and three.

Here are some suggestions for what you could wear for each round of recruitment, and any other moments of interaction with a sorority you are trying to impress. The key is to remember that you should dress to impress regardless of where you are meeting the sorority. [Pictures to come still]

Informal Meetings: (such as class, or a club expo)
I would suggest that in any situation when you might see a sorority girl you should remember to dress casual and cute. Don't try too hard, do your hair and your make up, and just look decent. This will help you in the long run.

Parties: (before recruitment)
Try to remember that even before recruitment starts you make an impression on Greeks on campus. Every action you make at a party will be seen by someone, so try to keep it classy. When dressing for a party (before recruitment starts) try to dress in a manner that is neither too slutty nor too casual. Keep it cute, and fashionable.

Round One:
The first round of recruitment is the most casual, when you go to meet each sorority for the first time. Most girls wear something along the lines of nice sandals, shorts, a nice blouse, perhaps a cardigan, and great accessories.

Round Two:
The second night is slightly more formal. I would suggest wearing dark skinny jeans, nice ballet flats, a nice blouse, nice jewellery, and a nice purse or a clutch.

Round Three:
Next comes the two fanciest nights, this night is not all out just yet. It would be best to wear a fitted and structured dress with casual heels if you want or a nice pair of boots/shoes.

Round Four:
This is the fanciest of nights, feel free to go all out! Put on your best cocktail dress, not prom dress, a nice cocktail dress. Make sure you wear a great pair of heels, have your hair and your accessories perfected. This is the most touching night of recruitment.
