Crochet-craze

Another trend that is definitely in this season is crochet. Stores are featuring crocheted everything from vests to sweaters to shoes! The prices for crocheted items can be slightly pricey, so I decided to begin to learn how to crochet, so that I can make myself anything I want. For those of you who are not inclined to learn, these are two wonderful choices that are affordable:

Sweet Summer Shorts

I personally am a fan of patterned shorts. I think they provided the perfect pop for a cute summer outfit. Topshop has loads of patterned shorts this season; from a USA print short to a red paisley short. I find myself wanting every single pair. I don't think you need a thousand different patterns, especially for those on a budget. Simply purchase one or two different pairs and make them your signature by wearing them over and over. Great Finds!

I just realised that most of the items I've put up so far have been from companies that are mostly available either on the internet or in Europe. It's perfect for a date, the boardwalk, the lake, the mall, anything, and just pair it with a cute pair of sandals or some flip flops.

Festival Season

Festival Season is upon us, with thousands of different festivals in every genre of music: Bonnaroo, Wireless Festival, Warped Music Tour, to name a few. Whether you are in the United States or in the United Kingdom or anywhere else, there are tons of music festivals to go to during the summer. It is now time to begin deciding what to wear and what to pack! 

Hippie Chic is how I would describe the festival fashion, which is quite easy to do even on a budget. River Island and Top Shop have some great items under their 'festival' sections, but even vintage stores have loads of items that would be perfect.

Denim shorts, bags with fringe, macramé, and leather, loose tank tops, sun dresses, tribal patterns, Aztec patterns; keep an eye out for any of these to base your look around. Accessories should include: bangles, sunglasses, friendship bracelets,  and anything else that you love and are comfortable in. When spending the night there, make sure you are prepared for any type of weather, so pack a nice pair of Wellies, and some warmer clothing that you can slip on if you need to, and make sure you remember your sunscreen!

The Monokini

As summer nears, a wide array of suits is becoming more and more available. A new sort of the swim suit is  is like a normal swimsuit with cut outs on the sides, aka a monokini! These are ideal for someone who wants to look fashionable on the beach without wearing a bikini; either for modesty or for the more self-concious. Gypsy and Tribal

It seems like every store I go into this summer has at least two or three pieces in a tribal pattern and another two or three in a gypsy style. Topshop has numerous gypsy pieces (examples below) and one of which is actually a combination of the gypsy style and the tribal patterns (second one down). Fantastic choices if you ask me!

My Dream Shoes

In case you can't tell by the signature red sole, these pairs of gorgeous heels are Christian Louboutin. They are slightly out of my current budget, but one day a pair of his shoes will be mine. 

A Little Outfit I want

I love these shorts! I think they are adorable and perfect for the 4th of July! I sort of want them. They are from Topshop for around £30 (I think). Outfit Idea: I would pair this possibly with a plain white T/tank top, a simple black zip-up hoodie, and with a pair of similar Nikes for around £70:

Clothes, shoes, bags, jewellery, accessories... I love it all! I'll be honest though. I am not some fashion expert from Vogue, or any of the other fantastic fashion mags. I am merely a college student who has a decent sense of fashion. I am an Anthropology major and currently also a French major. I am a sorority girl but I have grown up all around the world. I like all sorts of different fashions and often have pieces from a variety of styles and trends. This is going to be my place to explore bits of fashion that I like, am addicted to, or want.

Sometimes I wonder what to wear for specific occasions and want a place to go for quick advice, so I am hoping to provide that here for others. I hope that any ideas that I come up with will be accompanied by any that y'all have.
